Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Women and Girls continue to be subjected to multiple challenges when it comes to Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), due to taboos, norms, and practices; a lack of access to accurate information; poor access to sanitary products; and poor access to WASH facilities. The real-life consequences of this affects a girl’s education, as well as her right to equality, health, and dignity.
Child Help Foundation actively promotes awareness about Menstruation and Hygiene under this program. Due to their ignorance, a large number of adolescent girls and women still succumb to believing in the myths and taboos that plague society about menstruation and as a consequence end up not taking adequate care of their health.
Child Help Foundation has been working towards providing girls and women from remote communities access to sanitary napkins and clean washrooms. These sanitary napkins are distributed in various areas; accurate information regarding the dos and don’ts during menstruation is also given to the girls and women. They are helped with all their queries relating to menstruation.
