Gender Equality

Gender inequality remains a major barrier to human development. Often, women and girls are discriminated against in various sectors of life. Crimes against women are high which creates negative consequences for the development of their capabilities and their freedom of choice. Gender inequalities, and their social causes, impact India's sex ratio, making it highly unequal. Child Help Foundation started the Gender Equality Program in the year 2014 to bridge the gender disparities aiming to narrow it down further for our future generations.

Child Help Foundation adopts a holistic approach towards reducing the gender gap. We promote education of the girl child, and so our education programs align with the National Program ‘Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao’. CHF works to ensure the attendance of adolescent girls in school by building toilets only for girls, increasing access to sanitary needs, and working to reduce anemia and teen pregnancies.

To date, our Gender Equality Program has benefited over 3,00,000 children across India

Only your thought and support will help in the upliftment of every gender.

As an organisation we also spread awareness about sexual harassment and the protection of children and women. The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act is a comprehensive law enacted to protect children from a variety of sexual offenses, such as sexual assault, sexual harassment, and pornography. Child Help Foundation has organized many POCSO training programs in the Ashram Schools to make the children aware of the ways and steps of precaution against abuse.

In 2013, the Indian Government approved the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redress) Act. The POSH Act of 2013 makes it mandatory for companies to hold employee awareness sessions. Child Help Foundation provided POSH training to its 300 staff and volunteers. We also conduct POSH training programs for other corporate bodies. To date, 3070 employees from corporate companies have been trained by Child Help Foundation. The list of companies include
